A crueldade dos testes em animais / The cruelty of animal testing

Há séculos a sociedade transmite como um dogma que os seres humanos supostamente têm direito de fazer o que quiserem com os outros animais – ledo engano. Nada justifica que, sendo racionais, por isso mesmo podendo escolher a bondade, nossas sociedades matem, torturem e façam todo tipo de crueldade que têm feito.

A indústria farmacêutica é um exemplo. Para todos os fins, seja o de desenvolver remédios, seja o de criar vacinas e soros, ou mesmo pesquisas de biotecnologia, coelhinhos, ratinhos, cachorros e outros animais são maltratados, cegados, cortados, sem a mínima piedade: os testes em animais.

A indústria de cosméticos e produtos de limpeza, idem: muitas marcas que parecem inofensivas praticam tais testes. O movimento vegano, que defende a vida dos animais, vem se opondo a tanta crueldade e alerta a população que combater os testes em animais é dever de todas as pessoas.

Uma dica: lute contra os testes e opte pelos produtos não testados em animais, ou seja, livres de crueldade (cruelty-free). Alguns já informam na embalagem, mas a dica é pesquisar, procurando as listas em sites como o PEA (Projeto Esperança Animal).

For centuries, society has conveyed as a dogma that human beings supposedly have the right to do whatever they want with other animals – a misleading notion. Nothing justifies that, being rational, and thus capable of choosing kindness, our societies kill, torture, and commit all kinds of cruelty that they have done.The pharmaceutical industry is an example. For all purposes, whether to develop medicines, create vaccines and serums, or even conduct biotechnology research, bunnies, mice, dogs, and other animals are mistreated, blinded, cut, without the slightest mercy: animal testing.The cosmetics and cleaning products industry, likewise: many brands that seem harmless practice such testing. The vegan movement, which defends animal life, has been opposing such cruelty and alerting the public that combating animal testing is a duty of all people.A tip: fight against testing and choose products that are not tested on animals, that is, cruelty-free. Some already provide information on the packaging, but the tip is to research, looking for lists on websites like PEA (Animal Hope Project).

A proibição do uso de animais em testes para cosméticos finalmente está em vigor no Brasil! A Comunidade Vegana parabeniza e agradece ao Governo, pois o CONCEA - Conselho Nacional de Controle de Experimentação Animal, do Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação (MCTI) publicou em 1º de março de 2023 no D.O.U.(Diário oficial da União), a Resolução nº 58, de 24 de fevereiro de 2023, proibindo o uso de animais em pesquisas científicas de produtos de higiene pessoal, cosméticos e perfumes. No entanto, outros testes continuam sendo feitos, a exemplo de testes cruéis da indústria farmacêutica, testes para a certificação de brinquedos, experimentos militares, dentre outros. Apesar dos nossos protestos contra estes testes desumanos que ainda são realizados, consideramos esta Resolução nº 58 uma vitória importante, em prol dos animais, num país em que a cada dia mais pessoas se conscientizam na luta pela causa vegana!

                                             

The prohibition on the use of animals in cosmetics testing is finally in effect in Brazil! The Vegan Community congratulates and thanks the Government, as CONCEA - the National Council for the Control of Animal Experimentation, from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) published on March 1, 2023, in the D.O.U. (Official Gazette of the Union), Resolution No. 58, of February 24, 2023, prohibiting the use of animals in scientific research of personal care products, cosmetics, and perfumes. However, other tests continue to be conducted, such as cruel pharmaceutical industry tests, tests for toy certification, military experiments, among others. Despite our protests against these inhumane tests that are still conducted, we consider Resolution No. 58 an important victory for animals, in a country where more and more people are becoming aware of the struggle for the vegan cause!
